Extended Story
Ever since the end of World War II, the esteemed Gardet family of France has held a martial arts tournament every 5 years for all across the world to celebrate. The Battle Craze Tournament Series began as a means to unite the world's countries with a good bout and good sportsmanship. The tournament's rounds would be held in various routes across the world, always ending back up in Paris, France, where it all started. It started small, but ended up becoming one of the biggest martial arts events in the world. Many hope to claim the trophy, the prize money, and the prestige of winning in the finals, and fighting the Curator of Battle Craze in the bonus round.
The Battle Craze Tournament Series is currently run by Isabella Marisa Gardet, the first woman in the Gardet family to do so. At a young age, she traveled the world with her father, taking in the various cultures the countries could bring, and knowledge on the fighting styles that grew there. She took up Iaido very quickly on their visit to Japan, and held onto the style up until adulthood. She would be given the family heirloom after her display of swordsmanship, and once her father had become ill. The katana, Minerva, which was shared between the Gardets and an old friend from Japan after WWII.
The next Battle Craze Tournament is about to begin. Many sponsors wish to throw their hat into the ring. Many fighters register in hopes of winning. Isabella sits in front of her mirror, wondering what will happen to shake up this year's tournament.
"Anything could happen this year. Well then, don't want to keep everyone waiting."

Concept
Isabella was envisioned as not only a sub boss and host of the tournament, but also as a trans woman character represented by grace and elegance. Her gameplay style is akin to the way Samurai Shodown characters are presented in certain crossovers with their button schemes, such as SvC Chaos, and Neo Geo Battle Coliseum.
Trivia
- Isabella's birthdate, June 22nd, is shared with the Samurai Shodown character, Yumeji Kurokouchi. Isabella takes influence from them in terms of gameplay gimmicks and fighting style.
