Extended Story
Sherm was raised as a normal young lad on American soil. Up until high school, where he was introduced to the allures of huffing paint and ingesting silver. His life was on a downward spiral since then. His parents had left him to the streets, his skin turned blue thanks to argyrosis, and he had no friends except his dealer.
One day, Sherm's provider had run out of silver, and offered some heroin instead, hoping to catch him on this hook for a better profit. Before Sherm could take it, a mysterious man in a karate gi, surrounded by tiny moths, had arrived at the alleyway, and had kicked the provider unconscious. Before leaving, he told Sherm "Drugs are for losers." and left. He had forgotten something, a body pillow featuring an anime girl with huge robertsons. Sherm had kept this as a memento of the man who saved his life.
From that day, Sherm had kept clean. Visiting the local venue and striking up an old, childhood passion of fighting games. He took up a spot in eSports to try and make a living for himself, but even then, its been hard to support himself. His parents still don't trust him from long ago, especially since he changed his last name to "Usagi", and "made up" his own martial art, Shermsetsuken. Sherm has made his home in an abandoned dojo, trying his best not to get caught by authorities of Twin Falls.
Sherm's newset adventure comes to him from his forum, Battle Craze. An actual martial arts tournament with a sweet cash prize. He hurries on foot, with only a backpack full of his gaming gear and his body pillow to make his name in history.

Side-S Changes
- See: Evil Sherm
Concept
Sherm was initially seen as a headswap of Ryu, intended to be made for Mugen. Over time, his appearance would be more distinct. His gi would be without the tatters of Ryu's, he'd wear shoes, and have a red belt. The gi-top was changed to just a beater, and he grew some hair.
Trivia
- Sherm's birthdate, August 30th, is the same as Street Fighter 1's debut in arcades.
- Sherm's last name, Usagi, is the Japanese word for "rabbit". It's also inspired by the name of Sailor Moon's protagonist, Usagi Tsukino.
