Extended Story

Upon his birth that fateful Krishna Janmashtami night, Ajit was noted to not be crying after a successful delivery. It was noted he had a strange ailment that the doctors couldn't make heads or tails of, but they knew it could be fatal. Anjali, without much of a choice, decided to take Ajit to one of her old friends, Tandon Khan, to see if he knew anything about it, as he had a lot of experience with the supernatural. Within time, Ajit's ailment was gone, but with the side effect of futuristic predictions which entered his subconcious. With Tandon's training, he utilizes this to his advantage, for small things such as the weather, to possible scuffles in his hometown he could help prevent. Although he tries to stay out of trouble, mainly from the dismay of his mother, he says it wouldn't feel right if he did nothing about it.

By the age of 15, with his martial arts training from Tandon Khan, and the possibility of earning scholarships through sponsored tournaments, Ajit traveled most of Asia, and eventually fighting Tsugumi during a visit to Japan. They bonded quickly after their match over ramen. Since then, Ajit made a promise to her to visit Japan on a yearly basis to keep up with their lives and their training. Although it has been somewhat harder since then given Ajit had gotten himself into a nice college program, and Tsugumi dealing with her own losses from the MMA circuit, the two are still close friends.

Recently, Ajit had a terribly vivid nightmare. A scene of the Battle Craze Tournament Stadium in France, with its chairwoman, Isabella Marisa Gardet, in defeat, and a mysterious triangular obelisk erupting from the earth. Everyone submitting to bloodlust, and the catalyst behind it all, a strange monster with a crown of horns. The dream felt all too real to be a false prediction. Ajit could not get back to sleep that night, for fear of encountering the beast again.

When morning came, he took his bike and said his goodbyes to his mom.

"I need to sign up for Battle Craze. I think the world is in danger."

Concept

Ajit wasn't the initial idea for the protagonist of Battle Craze. Original he was a Hispanic kid named Xavier, but the idea was shelved and replaced with someone from India who was constantly sleepy. Ajit's first pitch had him in a fishnet beater, inspired by some of the unused characters from Daraku Tenshi: The Fallen Angels, and he was named "Cliff". The fishnet beater was replaced with a plain white one, and until recently, his design got an overhaul to look more "sporty".

Trivia

  • "Ajit Sinha" translates to "Invincible Lion" in Sanskrit. Some of Ajit's moves have a lion or sun motif to reflect this.
